Essure - A Reliable Birth Control Option
When your family is complete, talk with your Dean OB/GYN about Essure, the birth control method that can be performed in your doctor's office in less than an hour. Essure is a permanent birth control procedure that works with your body to create a natural barrier against pregnancy. This gentle procedure has been trusted by women and doctors since 2002. Essure offers women what no birth control ever has:
Most importantly, you'll never have to worry about unplanned pregnancy again. Essure May Be Right for You Essure may be right for you if you:
Note that the Essure procedure is permanent and is NOT reversible. Therefore, you should be sure you do not want children in the future. How the Procedure is Performed The Essure procedure does not require any cutting into the body. Instead, Dean's Essure-trained doctor inserts small flexible micro-inserts through the body’s natural pathways (vagina, cervix, and uterus) and into your fallopian tubes. The procedure is performed in the comfort of a Dean doctor’s office without general anesthesia, and most women resume their normal activities within one day. Dean is the only healthcare provider in the area that offers this procedure right in your clinic office. |

During the three months following the procedure, your body and the micro-inserts work together to form a natural barrier that prevents sperm from reaching the egg. During this period, you must continue using another form of birth control (other than an IUD or IUS).
Three months after the Essure procedure, our doctor will perform an Essure confirmation test, to confirm that the tubes are fully blocked and that you can rely on Essure for permanent birth control.
