Dean & St. Mary’s Docs Show Off Their Culinary Skills

October 26th Event Raises Money For Dean Foundation

This Sunday, physicians from Dean Health System and St. Mary’s Hospital go from medicine to marinade all for a culinary competition benefiting Dean Foundation's Health Outreach Programs! As media, you’re invited to check it out.
The competition begins at 3 p.m. at the Blue Spoon Café in Middleton. The doctors will serve up some signature hors d’oeuvres while guests vote for their favorites. Each doc turned chef for the day will compete for the coveted title of Doc du Jour! Don’t miss Dr. Craig Samitt’s roasted mushrooms with feta, spinach and bacon or Dr. Michael Frontiera’s secret family recipe for Sicilian meatballs. To tease your taste buds, here are some of the hors d’oeuvres our docs will be cooking up!

Smoked Salmon w/ Red Onions & Capers -Edamame Hummus w/ Baked Won Ton Chips
Chilled Shrimp w/ Basil Ponza Sauce -Prussions a la Denise (Pastry w/ Ham, Tuna)
Pork Wonton w/ Lime-Chili-Plum Sauce, Pistachios & Fried Leeks -Chocolate Truffles

The winner will be crowned Doc du Jour and granted bragging rights throughout Dean Health System and St. Mary's Hospital. Guests will also have the opportunity to bid on a variety of gourmet meals prepared exclusively for them and their guests by the competitors. Tickets are $75 per person, with proceeds benefiting Dean Foundation. See how a little contribution can make a huge difference!

$50 = Two hours of interpretive services for patients –or- transportation vouchers for patients
$100 = One BUCKLEBEAR school event on car seat safety –or- car seats for two families for a year
$250 = Five teens with pediatric care at Middleton Teen Clinic -or- five asthma sufferers with free
medication for a year
$500 = Crash Helmet® to give five presentations on bike safety to area schools
$1,000 Supports: The work of a volunteer nurse at BSP-Free Clinic for one year
$2,500 Supports: The work of a volunteer doctor at BSP-Free Clinic for one year
