Dean On-site Clinic Saves Local Company Time and Money

Workplace Clinic Reduces Need for Offsite Visits, Patient Satisfaction Soars

Madison, WI - Dean Health System recently scored top marks in patient satisfaction in a survey conducted by Lab Safety Supply’s Convenient Care Clinic. Surveyed patients (names omitted) such as the one quoted above, indicate employees are saving time and money by using Dean’s healthcare site at their workplace.

LSS is one of many employers nationally that has implemented on-site clinics in an effort to manage healthcare costs. Since July of 2008, Dean Health System physicians and staff have been providing on-site medical and therapy services the company’s approximately 800 employees.

On-site clinics are shown to improve employees’ health, demonstrate cost savings, aide in recruitment and decrease the time employees lose seeking medical care. A recent Watson Wyatt Worldwide survey finds that employees of companies with on-site care clinics make approximately one-third fewer visits to specialists and one-quarter fewer trips to urgent care centers.

According to the LSS survey, Dean Health System scored at or above the 95th percentile in overall clinic satisfaction, satisfaction of lab work performed and satisfaction in the time it takes to secure an appointment. All five providers also achieved satisfaction marks above the 95th percentile. Employees were randomly selected and included a sampling of first-time as well as repeat users.

  • “For some reason, I hesitated to use the clinic. After a single visit, I’ve come to learn what an incredible resource it is. I’m grateful that we have the clinic and appreciate the care that I’ve been provided.”

  • “We have a GREAT thing here! It’s so nice to be able to see someone here – saves time spent on traveling to a medical facility and it’s AWESOME that there’s no charge!”

Providers and therapists maintain regular office hours at LSS during the week. Employees schedule appointments through LSS Wellness Services, which has managed its Convenient Care Clinic for eight years.
