All-New Crash Helmet® to be Unveiled to the Public

Dean’s Beloved Mascot Gets an Out-of-This-World Makeover!

Monona, WI – He’s made thousands of friends at daycares and schools around the Madison area for more than 20 years, educating kids about bike safety. This month, Dean and Dean Foundation is proud to invite you to its unveiling of the all-new Crash Helmet®!

What could be more fitting than surprising hundreds of kids at Maywood Elementary in Monona, Tuesday, September 15th at 2 p.m. for an all-school assembly and unveiling of Crash? Please join us as we reveal a new brightly-colored helmet with splash design and rejuvenated body. Crash Helmet® has followed a healthier eating plan with the help of Dean’s Dieticians and Comprehensive Weight Management Program. He’s exercised and trained with Dean’s Sports Medicine Department. He even received a fresh look from our Essentials Skin Care Center.

“Our Crash Helmet® program is just as popular as the first year it started, especially here in Madison where such a larger number of families make cycling a part of their lives,” says Sherri Faust from Dean Foundation. “The community outreach involving Crash is really an extension of what Dean Foundation does year-round, educating families about everything from bike helmets to car seats.”

Take the opportunity to interview the “women behind the helmet” from Dean Foundation, who bring this educational program to schools across the greater Madison area year-round. Listen to Family Practice Physician David Gronski, MD, who also works with Dean’s Sports Medicine Department. Hear more about the potential injuries children can suffer from failing to wear bike helmets and the damaging effects these injuries create.
