St. Mary's/Dean Ventures, Inc. (SMDV) is a joint venture between St. Mary's Hospital and Dean Health System that was established in 1989 to create a network of local community clinics linked to advanced specialty care in Madison. SMDV has more than 30 regional clinics, which provide convenient care to outlying communities in Southern Wisconsin, and 3 St Mary's/Dean Day Surgery Centers in Madison and Janesville, which provide outpatient surgery and care.

Beaver Dam Community Hospital is the hospital to which Dean/SMDV physicians generally admit patients. BDCH offers comprehensive health services including preventative programs such as health education, screenings, and physical fitness; hospital-based services; and even long-term care. Emergency services are available 24 hours daily.

Beaver Dam Community Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and is a member of the American Hospital Association and the Voluntary Hospitals of America.

The Hospital

The Community
Beaver Dam, population 15,000, is a picturesque community located in south central Wisconsin on Beaver Dam Lake and is surrounded by rich farmlands.

Seasonal activities abound for Beaver Dam residents. Beaver Dam Lake is known for its outdoor activities including excellent fishing, boating and water-skiing. The city also maintains nineteen parks, among which are several with fishing piers and boat ramps. The Parks and Recreation Department plans and conducts a comprehensive year-round program of activities in swimming and tennis instruction, day camps and playground activities, ice skating rinks, and volleyball, softball and basketball leagues. In addition, Beaver Dam‘s cultural calendar is filled year-round with programs and events to meet every interest including theater, art, classes and workshops.

The Beaver Dam Unified School District offers seven K-5 elementary schools, a middle school and one high school.

Beaver Dam is located 40 minutes northeast of Madison, 90 minutes northwest of Milwaukee and 2 ˝ hours north of Chicago offering easy access to all the ammenities these great communities have to offer.
