The Community
As one of the nation's premier vacation destinations, Wisconsin Dells is made up of two communities, the city of Wisconsin Dells and the village of Lake Delton having a combined population of over 5000 residents. The area encompasses 18.2 square miles. With over 100 attractions, Wisconsin Dells offers heart-pounding excitement to stunning natural beauty. It was 150 years ago that the first visitors came by canoe for tours of the Wisconsin River and the stunning bluffs. Today, there are more sports and recreation choices for experiencing the ancient sandstone formations and abundant wildlife than ever before.
While summertime remains undisputedly the most popular time of year, it's actually the other three seasons that are growing fastest in popularity. Every season offers a wide eclectic mix of festivals and events from the annual Wo-Zha-Wa Days Fall Festival to Spring which brings with it the hottest auto show of the year, Automotion. The Downtown Shopping District is lined with quaint fudge shops and there are almost 100 restaurants to choose from. Food choices in Wisconsin Dells are a delightful cornucopia of ethnic eateries,
family-friendly restaurants, and critically acclaimed fine dining. Wisconsin
Dells is also home to the largest outdoor waterpark, Noah's Ark, and to the
largest indoor waterpark, Kalahari.
The School District covers a large area and includes three elementary
schools, one middle school and one high school. There is also one parochial
school.
Situated in Wisconsin's Heartland, in the middle of the southern half of
Wisconsin, Wisconsin Dells is approximately 50 miles from Madison, 120
miles from Milwaukee, and about 200 miles from both Chicago to the
Southeast and St. Paul/Minneapolis to the Northwest. Proximity to these cities
provides easy access to all the amenities these larger cities have to offer.
